You know exactly how you want your room to look, and now that you’ve bought beautiful cushions to give it that finishing touch, you’ll want to know how to care for your cushions so that they will continue to look as stunning as the day you bought them. Caring for your cushions will make your cushions last longer, keep their look and posture, and will forever be a talking point among your family and friends!.
Below are a few tips & pointers that you can take away and apply to your own cushion maintenance regime. Our cushions here at Cushy are specially designed from fabric that is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, so please take this into consideration if you are using our cushion care maintenance tips that have not been purchased here at Cushy’s.
1. Cover Your Cushions
If your cushions are not on display all the time then it is recommended that you cover your cushions or store them away in a dark place of storage.
2. Keep Out Of Sunlight
All cushions whether they be indoors or outdoors can be damaged from too much sun. If your cushions are near a bay window where they are always in the sun, or outdoors in a patio where there is no shade, please be aware that extreme, long periods of sun may eventually make your cushions look faded over time, so for long term use, we recommend not leaving them exposed too much to direct sunlight.
3. Keep Away From Moisture
Moisture is a sure way for your cushions to attract mold & mildew. This often arises when there are spillages, or when outdoor cushions are left outdoors in the rain. These incidents are easily fixed by covering your cushions, or putting them away when not in use.
4. Dry Clean
Our indoor/outdoor cushion covers are durable and long wearing, and although they will withstand a gentle wash cycle, it is always our recommendation to have your cushion covers professionally dry-cleaned. Never use bleaches or harmful cleaning chemicals that may dis-colour your cushion covers.
5. Use Common Sense
The beautiful thing about caring for your cushions is that it isn’t very hard to do. You do not need to do it very often, but as we know with most things, a bit of TLC sure goes a long way. It really is all about using common sense and being aware when it’s a bright sunny day to move your cushions in the shade, or bring them inside when it begins to rain, etc. Simply make sure you keep up with your cushion care maintenance and your cushions will love you for it!.
